Beyond Their Time

A question for everyone

Ask the whole page one question; the answers become memories.

Someone who looks after a page can ask everyone on it one question — What song always makes you think of Nonno? — and each person answers in their own way, as a memory.

Asking

Choose Add to the page → More ways to add… → Ask everyone a question. Type your own question, or choose one of our questions and change its wording if you like. The owner and the trusted people can ask; others on the page answer.

  • One question at a time. It stays open for thirty days, or until you close it.
  • It can't be edited once asked — people answered those words. Close it and ask again.

Who sees it

The people on the page see it at the top of the page and on their bell, under Asked on your pages, and anyone who can add hears about it once on their phone — who asked and on whose page, never the question itself. No reminders, no second message, no email. Visitors don't get the question — not at the top of the page, not on a bell, not as a heading over the answers. The answers are ordinary memories: each one follows its own visibility, and a memory kept to yourself stays yours until you add it. An answer's title starts as the question's words, so anyone who can read that answer reads them too; change the title if you'd rather it said something else.

Answering

Answer it opens a memory with the question at the top and its words as the title. You can answer more than once; Write something else instead (✕) turns it back into an ordinary memory. Not now on the page, or × on the bell, puts the question away for you — on every device. Answering (even a memory you keep to yourself for now) takes it off your bell too.

Nobody is counted: there's no tally of answers and no list of who hasn't answered — each answer carries its own name.

Closing, and after

Whoever looks after the page can Close the question at any time: it leaves the top of the page and the bell, and the answers stay where they are. Group the memories by question to see them together, under the question — see Ordering and decades.
