Sitting with someone
One question at a time, recorded or written down, each answer its own memory.
You're with someone who knew them — an aunt, an old friend, a neighbour — and you'd like to hear what they remember. On a Remembered page, choose Add to the page → More ways to add… → Sit with someone.
How it goes
Say who you're sitting with, then the page asks one question at a time. They answer out loud and you Record the answer, or you Write it down as they talk — or both. Save and next saves that answer and puts the next question up straight away; the saving carries on while you keep talking. Skip this one moves a question to the end, Choose another question picks any of them, and Finish stops whenever you like. Anything already saved stays saved.
The questions nobody on the page has answered yet come first. They are the page's own questions — the same ones the memory form offers — and never written by a machine: nothing makes up a question, a follow-up, a title or a summary.
Each answer is its own memory
Every answer becomes an ordinary memory, titled with the question (you can change the title), and it reads From Rosa · added by you — their name, not an account, just as in A memory from someone without an account. If you're answering the questions yourself, tick I'm answering these myself and the memories are simply yours.
Kept to yourself first
Keep the answers to myself for now is on to begin with: the answers are yours alone until you've read them over — spelling a name, adding a date or a photo — and then you add them to the page. See Keeping a memory to yourself. Switch it off and each answer goes to the page as you save it, the way any memory you add does.
Recording
A recording can be up to ten minutes per answer, with What was said written underneath if you like — see Recording a memory. Ask before you record: let them know you're recording, and that what they say may go on the page. If your browser can't use the microphone, write it down instead.
Nothing else is kept
There is no record of the sitting itself — no list of questions asked, no progress, nothing to finish. Only the answers you saved exist, each one a memory like any other.
